Osiris Beads is owned by Sue Oseland. Sue's love for beads began in the early 70's upon seeing the African Trade beads that were coming onto the market. In the early 80's, she started learning seed bead techniques while attending college, and then began working for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. She was responsible for coordinating educational coursework, both for high school completion and for community education.

It was during this period working for the Tribe that she realized that Czech seed beads were not easily accessible for the beadwork classes that were being taught. She started searching for direct importers for these products, traveling to New York and then to the Czech Republic. Visiting one of the bead factories in the Czech Republic, Sue placed her first order for Czech glass beads...and the rest, as they say, is bead history!

Osiris Beads has been in business since February of 1993 and has had a storefront in Northern Michigan since 1997. On June 21, 2007, the storefront was sold to one of Sue's long-time employees, Jackie Marcus-Humitz and her husband, Mark Humitz. The storefront is now called The Bead Bazaar. Jackie will continue to carry much of the same product that Osiris was known for; however, she plans to add more focal beads and more ethnic-based products. Osiris Beads now operates as a web-based store; all of the products we carry are available to order on-line. We also are vendors at approximately 10 trade shows per year.

Osiris Beads specializes in carrying a vast selection of Czech Seed Beads. We offer a great selection of colors in sizes 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12 seeds. We also carry a complete selection of Charlottes in sizes 8, 11, 13, and 15. We also carry 2-Cuts, 3-Cuts , and Bugles.
